PAYMENT / CANCELLATION
A major credit card is required for all bookings. *Cash Payers: We are happy to take cash, but for advance reservations a card must be provided for payment authorization as specified below, and will be refunded to the card if cash payment is made.
Standard Rate bookings made more than 14 days before check in date: a deposit of 25% is charged at booking. Full payment is charged 14 days prior to check in and is non-refundable and non-transferable. Cancelations and any changes to greater than 14 days prior to originally confirmed arrival date will receive a refund of the deposit, less a $25 cancellation fee. Cancelations and any changes 14 days or less prior to arrival date will be responsible for the entire reservation stay. This is also true for no-shows.
Protection Rate bookings includes our standard rate plus our “Protection Rate” cancellation coverage. By selecting this rate, you will pay an additional $25 per night over our Standard Rate, knowing that you may cancel your reservation up to 12pm Eastern Standard Time the day before your scheduled date of arrival and receive a refund of your deposit, less the $25 per night cancellation fee. Cancellation coverage must be purchased at the time you make your reservation.
Group and Holiday bookings made prior to 30 days upon arrival will be charged a 25% deposit. Full payment is charged 30 days before check in. Reservations cancelled 30 days or greater before arrival, will be refunded the deposit minus a cancellation fee equal to 10% of the total booking. Reservations canceled within 30 days of arrival receive no refunds, and all deposits and payments are non-refundable and non transferable.
Incidentals and Security Hold is required with all reservations and will be returned after check-out, once your accommodations have been checked by management (typically $100, some reservations may be different, management reserves the right to set this fee).
We are not able to refund for late arrival, early departure or no shows.
CANCELLATIONS:
To CANCEL your reservation call us at 888-999-1145 or 989-539-0706 (9:00 AM to 10:00 PM Eastern). We are NOT able to process email cancellations. Remember to retain the cancellation number we give you as proof your reservation was cancelled.
SMOKING POLICY:
All Indoor areas are SMOKE-FREE. Lakeside is a POT-FREE property. If evidence of smoking in any interior space or room, immediate eviction and a $150 cleaning fee will be charged to the card on file. Your booking fees will NOT be refunded.
PET Policy:
*No Dogs are allowed in RM 3, or the 2 Bedroom Cottages.
Well-mannered pets (dogs only) are welcomed with management approval. $25 per dog, per night. No more than 2 dogs per room. No dogs allowed in 2-bedroom cottages or in room #3 (The Family Room). Dogs must be registered and attended at all times. Any unregistered dogs or other pets on the property will be grounds for immediate eviction and booking fees will not be refunded. Additional cleaning fees may be charged.

Pets outside must be on a leash held by a human in control of the animal at all times. Pets may not be “tied out” or allowed to run loose at any time. No barking or other aggressive behavior toward other guests or pets is allowed.
Dogs are not allowed on the furniture or beds. Dogs must be housebroken; we do not allow indoor pee-pee pads. Pets are not allowed on the shared patio behind the motel units. Motel guests must use their front door ONLY with their pet(s).
Pets are restricted from the south half of the property, including the south waterfront (to the right of the dock) and by the pavilion if there are any other guests in the area. The north waterfront and north meadow are available to pets. We know your pet is enjoyable to you, but please respect other guests’ choice to enjoy the area “pet-free”.
Pets must be toileted on a 6-foot leash in the designated pet areas: to the left of the big sign near the road, and in the meadow located on the north end of the property. Guests are responsible to clean up after their pets. Please dispose of pet waste appropriately, do not leave it for other guests to step in while enjoying the property. “Pet area” does not mean waste can be left there – it must be disposed of. Please do not allow your dog to urinate on the building, trees or shrubs, or sidewalks.
Guests are responsible for any damage to persons or property caused by their pet. Pet owners accept full responsibility for any and all liability, claims, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorney’s fees) for personal injury or property damage caused by their pet(s), and agree to make reimbursement for such damages on demand.
Pet owners agree to indemnify, hold harmless, and defend Lakeside Motel & Cottages, its owners, agents and employees from any and all liability, claims, losses, costs, and expenses, (including reasonable attorney’s fees) arising out of or relating to any claim for personal injury or property damage caused by their pet
Pet owners must have a credit card authorization and/or cash security deposit on file. If we need to clean up after your pet you will be subject to an additional cleaning charge and/or the loss of your security deposit.
Guests and their pets not following these policies will be asked to leave without refund.
